Important updates to our terms

Bitvavo
Bitvavo

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and improving your experience, we’re updating Bitvavo’s User Agreement and Risk Disclosure.

These changes will take effect on 1 June 2025.

We encourage you to review the updates carefully, so you understand how they may impact your use of Bitvavo’s services. Below, you can read a high-level summary of the most notable changes.

What’s changing

Staking: streamlined and more flexible

We’re simplifying how Flex Staking works and introducing clearer pathways to higher returns with Fixed Staking:

  • When you enable Flex Staking, it will now apply automatically to all eligible assets in your portfolio (no need to opt in for each one individually).

  • If you're looking to earn more, Fixed Staking offers higher returns when you commit assets for a set lock-up period. Keep in mind: assets staked under Fixed Staking can’t be traded or withdrawn during the specified lock up time period (typically 30 days).

  • You can enable or disable staking anytime in your account settings. For more information, read FAQs here.

  • Important: On June 10th, the current Staking experience will be discontinued and you will be automatically enrolled in the new Staking experience, unless you select to opt out.

Trading: changes for select low-liquidity pairs

To maintain healthy market conditions, we may require users to enroll in our Lending Service before buying or depositing certain low-liquidity trading pairs. This helps support liquidity on our platform.

We’ll notify impacted users in advance. You’ll always have the option to sell or withdraw these assets before any change takes effect.

Lending involves risk. Please consult the User Agreement and Risk Disclosure before enrolling.

For our users in France

In line with local regulations, we’ve updated how EUR funding works:

  • EUR deposits will be converted to EUR-denominated stablecoins (e.g. EUROC) in your Bitvavo account.

  • You’ll still be able to trade and withdraw in EUR as usual.

  • While we aim to maintain price stability, stablecoins may not always hold a 1:1 value against the euro.
