Why do assets get delisted?

We understand that delistings can be inconvenient, especially if you hold an affected asset or recently traded it. Here is why these decisions are made.

Bitvavo periodically reviews all assets listed on our platform to ensure they meet the high standards we aim to offer all users. Delisting is never taken lightly and is guided by a structured evaluation. Key factors we assess include:

  • Trading volume and market liquidity
  • Network or contract security and stability
  • Dedication and activity of the project team or developers
  • User interest and engagement on our platform
  • Evidence of unethical behaviour or negligence

In many cases, a delisting reflects reduced activity, development stagnation, or changing market conditions—not wrongdoing. Our responsibility is to provide a stable and compliant trading environment for everyone, and sometimes that means discontinuing support for assets that no longer meet our requirements.
