What is Arbitrum?

ARB is Arbitrum’s native token. Its launch marks the evolution of Arbitrum into a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO). Thus, ARB holders will be able to decide on key decisions governing Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova – networks that provide faster and cheaper transactions on the Ethereum blockchain. Arbitrum is an Ethereum layer-two scaling solution aiming to improve speed, scalability and cost-efficiency on Ethereum. Another benefit is the higher throughput and lower fees compared to Ethereum. Right now, Arbitrum processes Ethereum transactions through a method called an optimistic rollup, and settles these on a sidechain before reporting back to Ethereum.
