Bitvavo makes Bluzelle as easy as possible. Here are answers to common questions to help you make your first steps in the world of digital assets.
Bluzelle is a blockchain focused on gaming and decentralized storage. Built on the Cosmos blockchain, it offers high transaction speeds, low fees, and a decentralized storage solution for buying and selling gaming non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Bluzelle aims to enhance the gaming experience by supporting faster and cheaper transactions, providing a solution to popular blockchains like Ethereum that face scalability limitations and high transaction fees, making them impractical for gaming. Bluzelle’s blockchain can process 10,000 transactions per second (TPS), compared to Ethereum’s 12 TPS.
In addition to blockchain gaming support, Bluzelle offers a decentralized data and file storage solution called Bluzelle DB. This solution allows developers and players to securely store their codes, NFTs, and other data on a network of 13+ nodes. This ensures that the data is always available, even if some nodes are offline. The data is synced using a consensus engine, meaning that changes can only be implemented if two-thirds of all nodes agree.
To provide an optimal gaming experience, Bluzelle is developing blockchain games in-house in collaboration with external game studios. One example is GAMMA4, a play-to-earn (P2E) card game being developed with Starloop Studios. Bluzelle has also launched a gaming-focused NFT marketplace, Cappella. The platform is also integrating with the DeFi world within the Cosmos ecosystem, offering players lending, staking, and yield farming options for their game assets.
The BLZ token is Bluzelle’s native cryptocurrency. It is used to pay transaction fees, settle storage and oracle services, stake and earn rewards, participate in network governance, and purchase in-game items. BLZ exists as a native token on the Bluzelle blockchain and as ERC-20 on external blockchains. Users can stake their BLZ tokens by delegating them to an existing validator, allowing any user to contribute to the network and earn rewards.
Bluzelle was founded by Pavel Bains and Neeraj Murarka. Bains is the CEO and Murarka the CTO of the company. Bains has experience in marketing and financial consulting, and co-founded a digital book platform called Storypanda. He also worked for the game studio Threewave Software. Murarka has spent his entire career as a software engineer in the tech sector, working for companies such as Zynga and Hewlett-Packard. Bluzelle is currently based in Singapore.
Bluzelle has several features and can be used by users and developers for the following situations:
Bluzelle works as a decentralized database layer, powered by the Cosmos SDK and Tendermint’s Byzantine Fault Tolerant (BFT) consensus mechanism. This makes Bluzelle compatible with multiple blockchains and provides scalability and censorship resistance for dApps.
Bluzelle uses a Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) mechanism where validators stake BLZ tokens to participate in the creation of new blocks. Validators are chosen based on the amount of BLZ tokens they stake. Validators earn block rewards in BLZ tokens derived from the total transaction fees paid by users on each block. Bluzelle has set aside 10% of its token supply to incentivize validators. Users can delegate their BLZ tokens to validators they trust, and the proceeds are then distributed to users who have delegated their stake.
Bluzelle also uses Tendermint’s BFT consensus mechanism powered by Cosmos. Bluzelle divides the uploaded data and transforms it into shards, meaning that data cannot be recovered in its entirety even in the event of a security breach.
The Bluzelle network consists of so-called "Swarms". These are groups of nodes that work together to store and manage data. When someone uploads data to the Bluzelle network, this data is divided into small pieces (shards) and distributed across different Swarms. This allows the network to process large amounts of data quickly and efficiently.
Sharding not only makes Bluzelle faster, but also makes data more secure. Since the data is stored in different pieces on multiple nodes, data is always available even if a node fails. This is because the other nodes still have the other pieces. Only the rightful owner with the correct public and private keys has access to the data.
Swarms consist of two groups: singleton metaswarms which act as the main group, and virtual metaswarms which consist of smaller individual groups. Each group within the network is tasked with managing a specific part of the data, which ensures an efficient and secure storage structure.
BLZ is the native cryptocurrency of the Bluzelle blockchain and has several key functions. Users can use BLZ tokens to pay transaction fees and for storage and oracle services, stake by setting up a validator and earning rewards, delegate their stake to existing validators, and purchase in-game items that run on the Bluzelle blockchain.
BLZ tokens exist in two forms: as a native token on the Bluzelle blockchain and as an ERC-20 token on external blockchains, such as Ethereum. This allows BLZ tokens to be used outside of the Bluzelle ecosystem. The total maximum supply of BLZ tokens is set at 500 million, which are not yet fully in circulation.
Bluzelle has some unique features that set it apart from other blockchains and cryptocurrencies:
You can purchase Bluzelle tokens on Bitvavo, a platform suitable for both novice and experienced traders. Follow these steps to buy BLZ tokens via our website or smartphone app:
After purchase, your BLZ coins will be added automatically to your Bitvavo account, where you can easily manage and trade them. Selling BLZ tokens is just as easy, so you can quickly respond to a change in the market.
You can safely store your BLZ tokens in your Bitvavo account. Bitvavo keeps the majority of assets in cold storage, which means they are kept offline for extra security. For extra protection of your account, we recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA).
